Sookie Stackhouse Kind of Day

So today I wanted to get some sun, but I could not go to the pool since my mom was in town.  I also needed to weed the garden, so I took a page out of a Sookie Stackhouse novel and but on my bikini to do the gardening.  I kept looking around to see if any fairies were going to pop out of no where to try and kill me...I tried to have my iron shovel ready just in case.

Tomatoes

Broccoli

Peppers

Onions

Sweet Potatoes

My garden is a growing!  I can't wait to start cooking with my fresh fruit and vegetables.

Ingenious Solutions

My husband is a genius when it comes to thinking of solutions to problems that have arisen. For instances, one day he was finally going to work on the new engine that he had purchased for his geo metro, and been putting off working on for a few weeks, when the forecast called for rain all day that Saturday. Most men would be deterred seeing as they could not work outside and had no shop to block the rain, not my husband. While I was at work he decided he had plenty of space to work on the engine in our kitchen. I came home to two geo metro engines hanging out in our house. He was able to finish his project without getting the engine wet, so like I said he is a genius.

Another ingenious idea came when he was finally letting CJ outside after some injuries had kept her in the house for a week. He had to keep her tethered, which was no problem seeing as we had a nice tethering hook, so she would not run around. Jack on the other hand was another problem, there was a visitor coming over and as you might know Jack has issues. We did not have another tethering hook, so Andrew had to think fast on his feet and figure out what could jack be tethered too.

Again this happened while I was at work and yes I came home to Jack chained to a battery. The first thing Andrew said to me was “Another picture for your blog”.

When Andrew and I started dating he told me about his dream of one day owning a junkyard, little did I know when he bought our house a year later his real intentions of wanting 5 acres of land.  Having 5 acres of land surrounded by trees was not really for us to have no neighbors, a garden, and room to grow, but to have places to hide the newly purchased junk cars, junk car parts, and scrap metal from me.

Andrew has a deep love for Jeeps so much so that our dog CJ was named after a type jeep, so of course a big part of our junkyard collection contains different types of Jeeps.

This last one was Andrew's Christmas/Birthday Present in 2009 the deal was that I could not ask him anything about when he was going to sell it or fix it up.  This has been the hardest promise I have made in our relationship.

He also likes to buy random non working cars that he uses for parts.  My family has taken to his way of car buying and now the give him their broken down cars because really who else would want them.

Andrew does not limit his conquest to buying cars. He also likes to trade for random motorized equipment.  He has traded for a mini truck, a tractor and even a motor grader.

These are only a few of the cars we have owned/still own.  We also have a Subaru Justy, Kia Safia, and a F150.  We do have working cars as well with my Camary and Andrews Jeep Grand Cherokee, Geo Metro, and his new Chevy Silverado.  While having so many cars around our property can be a little frustrating, it is nice to know that I married a redneck from Chicago.
